North Dakota Oil Jobs Are Great But Don't Forget About Texas

Okay, so here at OilAndGasJobsNorthDakota.Com we focus on western North Dakota and oil jobs in that area however for those of you from other distant areas of the country, who prefer a warmer climate, or who don't want to deal with the housing problems in Wiliston and other western North Dakota towns there are other areas of the country with plenty of high paying oil jobs.

Basically every website, blog, magazine and newspaper article these days talks about the worker shortages there are in oil patches and how many opportunities there are out there for millions of americans that are out of work and unemployed. You don't often see specifics about the best regions in th country to work let alone the best fields in the country to work. I just wanted to touch on some areas in Texas people can seek work if they prefer Texas to work in the oil industry. Today we are going to point out some of the best oilfeids to work in, in Texas.

Why Texas, well North Dakota is great don't get me wrong but many would say Texas has a better climate, none of those harsh North Dakota winters to deal with. Texas may be closer to someone from Down south home and family as opposed to traveling all the way to North Dakota. Texas also doesn't have the housing shortages that North Dakota does. And don't let me forget to mention Texas has over 900 oilrigs.

Barnett Shale

This formation is under the city of Fort Worth Texas and covers an area encompassing 16 or 17 different counties and over 4500 square miles. Because of the geology of this region it requires high tech drilling rigs and special equipment to start producing. The high tech equipment needed is one of the reasons this is a great oilfield. Because high quality equipment is required the rigs are more high tech and require less manual labor for the roughnecks however don't get it twisted this still is a tough hard labor job. This region also pays top tier wages. Though this is a great area for a number of reasons its getting tougher to get a job herte as the drilling activity has slowed down due to low natural gas prices.

Permian Basin

Over 320 rigs drill in this area and you can find plenty of opportunities to work. Even with little or no experience jobs are plentiful in this area. Midland and Odessa are two oil towns right in the middle of this basin, probably towns your familiar with from the fake reality tv show Black Gold. These towns are home to over 250k people and you'd be hard pressed to find people not working in the oil industry. This field has been around and producing for quite some time.

Eagle Ford

This location seems to be not as well known as other areas though there are as many as 200 or more rigs in the region meaning it's also a great place to find a job. This oil rich area of southern Texas is gaining momentum and becomming one of the better places to find employment.
