Seeking Oil Employment In North Dakota? Consider Waiting Out The Winter...

North Dakota is known for it's harsh winters. Sleeping in your car is no fun in any climate but it's down right deadly to do in a North Dakota winter. For that reason, unless you already have a job and housing lined up in North Dakota it may be wise to put off your journey until winter is over and spring thaws out the state.

As with anything however, it's always smart to have a plan and think ahead. Rather than sitting on your duff all winter waiting for Spring why not start making arrangements for your venture to North Dakota now and have a smoother experience when you head out there. Now is a perfect time to start planning for a trip right after winter.

Not only is it not comfortable but going to work on the oil rigs in the winter time can be downright dangerous if not even deadly due to the harsh weather conditions and harsh winter North Dakota experiences.

If your from a colder climate a North Dakota winter will still take some adjusting to but if your comming from Texas or a warmer climate like that you may want to wait until May or later to come out.

There are many reasons to wait until Spring to head out here. First off once spring hits hopefully the snow and ice will have melted making it easier driving around and navigating around whether submitting applications or running around getting physicals, drug tests and other necessary things done.

The job will be easier in spring. Working on oil rigs and in the oil industry in general is hard work. Why make it more difficult by also starting and learning a new trade in miserable weather.

Housing isw another issue in North Dakota. Some people claim to sleep in their cars through the winter but at the very least it's going to be extremely uncomfortable, it could be deadly. In warmer weather you have many more options for a place to sleep such as a campground or sleeping in your car.

Another reason to put off your trip until after winter is it gives you more time to plan. More time to try to line up a job, more time to try to lineup housing, more time to save up for food and supplies you'll need once out there to last you the few weeks until you receive your first paycheck.

Waiting until Spring can also save you some money. In winter you'll probably have to invest in winter clothes, underarmour shirts, longjohns, Carhart suits. That's all money you can save on not buying gear if you wait until spring

If you really want to head out in winter it can be done and I don't want to deter you but your life may be a bit easier if you wait until the winter thaws away and spring emerges.
