Is it easy to get an oil rig job in Western North Dakota? Yes and no. It used to be very easy. Got a pulse and can pass a drug test...your hired. It has gotten tougher, more people have headed out to North Dakota and employers have gotten a little pickier but it's still easy to get a job. The toughest part is finding housing.
North Dakota is one of the states with the lowest unemployment rate. The oil industry is booming and there's plenty of high paying jobs.
Don't worry if you have no experience, most people don't as there's really no previous job where your knowlesge and training will transfer to working on a rig. That said employers do like military experience as well as any experience in hard manual labor jobs. Shows you can get up everyday and do what needs to be done and you won't say it's too hard and quit after a week.
